The purpose of the Team Lead- Technical Consulting is to lead and develop a team of 2 Technical Consultants and consult directly with Enterprise and State Government customers and work with the Customer Engagement Management team and the Sales and Solution Consulting teams. You will help develop solutions that support customer migrations (which are mostly small moves, adds, changes, deletes etc. across the Vocus portfolio), as well as being the customer technical advisor on product migrations working with the Vocus product team.

The role will also undertake direct engagement with customers both with team members and individually.

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to coach a team of technical consultants and have a rich understanding of global networking and solutions; be a source of knowledge for the team in this arena and work with the internal product teams.
    • Create individual development and performance plans for the team. Take into consideration the requirements of the individual and the company to develop programs including technical, commercial, solutions and personal skills (presentation, interviewing etc). Work with the broader products and learning teams to develop and implement these plans.
    • Develop deep understanding of customer migration business needs and provide feedback on Vocus solutions to meet this requirement.
    • Respond quickly to customers and internal teams requirements and able to manage a large number of requests in a timely and effective manner.
    • Able effectively use interview skills and written communications to quickly identify business needs and requirements from customers and internal teams;
    • Act as an advocate for the customer within Vocus, its partners and suppliers

Skills:

  • 5 years experience in customer facing technical presales / migrations role, including people management
  • Understanding of Communications standards and technologies including but not limited to:
    • Networking Technologies
    • Voice technologies
  • Experience in engaging directly with customers and internal stakeholders, forming relationships and delivering solutions

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications in leading vendor technologies; Google, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper and Equinix 
  • Understanding of Communications standards and technologies including but not limited to:
    • Security Standards and design
    • Unified Communications
    •  Cloud Infrastructure
