The Opportunity
Join us as our new Energy Pricing Analyst in our Melbourne Office, this role will be responsible for providing timely and accurate mass market pricing for electricity and gas for our Dodo Power and Gas business.
As the Energy Pricing Analyst your role will include updating pricing fact sheets and comparator sites, including the identification of market trends and opportunities to drive the development of new offerings and profitably grow customers.
This role will also assist in the design and development of acquisition and retention offers and plans in support of targets and unique customer value propositions. Collaboration across the group is essential to devise strategies and offers to drive greater share of wallet for home and business services.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
As the Energy Pricing Analyst for our Dodo Power and Gas business, your duties will include;
- Update mass market pricing for electricity and gas on a regular basis.
- Monitor and collect competitor product & pricing intelligence, analyse data and present in an insightful, concise and easily comprehendible format.
- Make recommendations on the pricing of the mass market product suite to ensure product competitiveness and profitability across all Vocus product offerings
- Undertake customer profitability analysis across segments.
- Recommend business strategies & initiatives to improve profitability by targeting customer segments.
- Reviewing and improving reporting to assist decision making processes
- Assist with customer renewal and retention activities and processes.
- Understanding and remaining up to date with changing regulations that impact pricing
- To ensure the maintenance of inter-departmental relationships and a co-operative work ethic
- Ensure consistent application of Vocus operating systems, policies and procedures and compliance
- Assist in the development of the short to medium term strategy and roadmap for the telco product proposition and offers
- Understand and analysing the changes in the wholesale market on a month basis
- Ensuring the rate cards are issues to the business in accordance with business process, uploaded on the billing engine and also fit for external and internal channels to use
- Meeting the regulatory requirements regarding any changes in mass market offer rates
- Optimising customer life-cycle value, whilst addressing short-term goals & targets.
What you’ll bring to this role

- A clear “can do” attitude
- Appropriate Commercial/ Business Degree - A tertiary qualification in the fields of marketing, product management, business management, law, or technology is essential.
