What is the role?
Based at our Lorna Jane Head Office, we're looking for a detail-driven Payroll Officer to play a vital role in supporting our people and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the Payroll & Systems Lead, you'll be at the heart of our Finance team, making sure our team members are paid correctly and on time.
What You’ll be doing:
As our Payroll Officer you’ll:
- Process AU and NZ fortnightly payrolls
- Handle employee terminations and ensure final payments comply with legislation
- Respond to payroll queries quickly and accurately
- Collaborate with the People Team to ensure seamless onboarding of new starters
- Manage parental leave processes and Centrelink documentation
- Deliver timely payroll closures and reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and ever-changing legislation
- Provide support with process improvements
Who We’re Looking For:
- Payroll Expertise: Demonstrates 2+ years experience in payroll processing, with a thorough understanding of payroll legislation and proficiency in payroll systems (Dayforce preferred).
- Attention to Detail: Maintains a high level of accuracy in all payroll tasks, ensuring precision and compliance with regulations.
- Time Management and Efficiency: Effectively manages time and prioritises tasks to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, even under pressure.
- Effective Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally, fostering positive relationships with team members and ensuring the smooth flow of payroll- related information.
- Payroll Solving and Confidentiality: Uses strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and a solutions-focused mindset.
