What is the role?
We’re seeking a Finance Analyst to join our Finance team at Lorna Jane’s head office located in Eagle Farm.
As our Finance Analyst you will utilise BOARD software to optimise financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes. In this role you will work closely with cross functional departments and will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and presenting financial data to support strategic decision-making across the business.
What You’ll be doing
As our Finance Analyst you’ll:
- Analyse customer behaviour, segments and lifetime customer value to collate store profitability results, including foot traffic and targeting for review and action by Retail Leaders
- Provide structured monthly flash and management reporting that empowers the business leaders to be informed, make decisions and adhere to budget in a timely manner
- Provide ad hoc reporting to, and resolving ad-hoc queries from the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
- Assist with reporting and communication in preparation for Board Meetings as required.
- Provide valuable insights into the business allowing informed decisions to be made by utilising systems skills & knowledge
- Understand financial trends and variances, providing succinct commentary regarding the financial performance and the associated business drivers.
- Ensure that data integrity is maintained
- Identify areas of potential risk, underperformance and opportunities for improvement, working with stakeholders to mitigate or promote these.
- Analyse the Profit and Loss Statement to ensure accuracy in data
- Seek opportunities to leverage and report on data-driven insights that improve business performance
- Support the group reforecasting process as required
- Develop and maintain financial models and system reporting tools with a focus on continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to gain an understanding of how each department functions and what they contribute to the overall business.
- Assist with specific reporting for different departments within the business with strategic data that aids decision-making, including analysing performance and identifying process improvements
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. CPA, CFA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and reporting, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience with BOARD software.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, data analysis, and accounting standards.
- Proficient in data visualisation and presenting complex financial information in an understandable manner.
- Previous experience in retail
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and experience with other financial planning & analysis (FP&A) tools.
- Proven track record in improving processes and delivering against deadlines
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to identify and solve problems and make quality decisions
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities
