Senior Engineer - Modern Workplace (Managed Services)

Lab3 is one of the largest Azure engineering practices in the Australasia region with a focus on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Modern Apps & Integration,  Security, and Network services.

We are on the hunt for a Senior Engineer with skills in M365 and modern workplace management to be part of our managed services team.

The role:

• Deliver managed services solutions by maintaining and optimising Microsoft 365 environments.
• Proactively monitor and maintain client environments to ensure service availability and performance.
• Provide ongoing operational support, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues.
• Evaluate emerging technology in and around Microsoft 365 to ensure both LAB3 and our customers capitalise on the latest technology.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure that managed services align with asset roadmaps, service deliverables, and strategic goals.
• Handle service desk escalations to ensure high-quality resolution of critical incidents.
• Act as a system administrator for backup and other third-party services to maintain operational integrity.
• Implement and support incident, change, and problem management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.
• Enhance efficiency by automating operational tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, or Logic Apps.
• Monitor and enhance end-user experience management through Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) and analytics tools.
• Work closely with security teams to manage compliance, threat protection, and governance in Microsoft 365 environments.

The right candidate:

• Will have experience in supporting and optimising a modern workplace environment
• Demonstrate a professional ability to work with business stakeholders, manage effective relationships, understand business issues, and deliver appropriate technical solutions.
• Possess a deep and wide understanding of the following:

• Identity (Entra ID)

• Exchange Online
• Exchange Online Protection
• SharePoint Online
• OneDrive for Business
• Microsoft Teams
• Power Apps/Power Platform
• Intune/Endpoint Device Manager
• Azure Virtual Desktop
• Windows 365 Cloud PC
• PowerShell Scripting and Automation

•  Basic knowledge of secure certificates and related processes
• M365 licensing knowledge is preferable as are relevant Microsoft certifications
