About the role
Are you ready to make an impact at JPL Group? As a Group Junior Merchandise Planner, you’ll play a crucial role in bringing the right products to the right stores at the perfect time! You’ll dive into sales data, help forecast demand, and ensure our stores are stocked with what customers want. From product assortments to stock replenishment, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to drive sales and keep everything running smoothly. What will you do?
- Set up and maintain OTB (Open to Buy) reports, supporting the buying team with accurate inventory planning.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to ensure promotions are properly set up and aligned across all systems.
- Perform detailed catalogue checks to guarantee all product information is accurate for promotions.
- Work closely with the Buying team to manage core stock, pricing, and inactive stock removal.
- Balance and move stock between stores to optimize product availability and performance.
- Prepare and share inactive stock lists with stores and Regional Managers, ensuring smooth stock recalls.
- Report on key performance metrics like weekly variance and catalogue performance and follow up on any issues.
- Keep all teams updated with regular OTB, price change, and outstanding order reports to stay on top of business needs.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Strong experience and knowledge of the merchandise function in retail, including buying and stock allocation.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills to keep everything on track.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
- A team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
