Apprentice Technician - 3rd/4th year

As a full-service Kenworth and DAF Truck dealership, we offer new truck sales, parts, and mechanical servicing, proudly serving the North of Melbourne, including Somerton and Ballarat territories. Currently operating from our interim location on Hume Highway in Somerton, we are eagerly anticipating the completion of our state-of-the-art dealership in 2028 in Mickleham, which is set to revolutionise the truck sales and service customer experience in Melbourne.
At Melbourne North Truck Centre, we are preparing you for a long-term career within the automotive industry. If you love working on large powerful engines, enjoy problem solving and like the idea of working with advanced machinery and computers, then this is the perfect career for you.
You’ll learn how to diagnose, overhaul, repair, inspect and test a wide range of trucks and buses. As well as working with a range of diesel engines, you will gain experience in electrical systems and brakes. You will be exposed to Melbourne North Truck Centres modern workshop equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools
Apprenticeship
We offer a 4-year apprentice training program, providing theory and on-the-job components as part of their Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel technician working on Kenworth and DAF vehicles onsite.

To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, you must have:
- Currently completing a Certificate III Heavy commercial vehicle mechanical technology
- Successfully completed year 11
- A valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail
- Good mechanical aptitude
- A friendly, positive, and can-do attitude
- Your cover letter and resume should showcase any automotive-related activities, hobbies, or work experience you have undertaken
