After Hours Nurse Manager

A number of new opportunities are now available to for a proactive, diligent and highly experienced Registered Nurse with 10+ year experience to provide after-hours support to business operations across Residential Homes and Home Care Services. You will provide leadership in on-call clinical support, incident escalations, risk management, compliance, complaints management, and workforce coverage. These positions will report to Deborah Karam, Chief Residential Officer.
With flexibility being offered in regard to location, you will be based in one of CHL’s RAC homes. These positions will not offer WFH.
Current available shift options;
- Sat & Sun – 6am – 2.30pm
- Sat & Sun – 2pm – 10.30pm
- Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs – 10pm – 8am
- Fri, Sat, Sun – 10pm – 8am

Your role will include;
- Responding to after-hours support for all clinical and non-clinical queries, workforce shortages and absentees, and incidents
- Providing professional clinical advice to the Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and employees over the phone or through electronic communication, as required.
- Providing professional clinical advice to respite carers and home care teams after hours
- Assessing resident and client symptoms (remotely) and determining appropriate level of care or intervention required
- Providing guidance and advice on medication management and next steps for resident and their authorised representative
- Managing unplanned leave and replacing all vacant shifts
- Accurately documenting all employee and resident interactions, incidents, and actions during shi
- Providing after hours support with all complaints, incidents, compliance & risk management including escalations
The ideal applicant will have strong leadership, problem solving and decision making capabilities in addition to clear and effective written and verbal communication skills in addition to;
- Completion of tertiary qualifications in healthcare, bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting or aged care
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Understanding of the Aged Care Legislation and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Experience supporting a large team Strong team leadership experience, with demonstrated abilities across all people management activities.
- Strong change management and influencing skills
- Solid understanding of rostering best practice principles and Enterprise Agreement requirements
- Strong customer-centric approach to business
- Competent in using computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Rostering Systems, Incident Systems, Clinical Documentation Systems, and Excel.
- Willingness to obtain Police Check
