Clinical Aged Care Delegate

  • Location – Primarily work from home role with office days required on occasion for training or meetings 
  • Flexible hours and days – Monday to Friday, Full time or part time; no shift work!   
  • Pay rate – $56.73 per hour + superannuation

We’re thrilled to announce that our Aged Care Assessment Services (‘ACAS’) team is expanding, creating exciting opportunities! ACAS positions offer flexibility and autonomy and are based across both metropolitan and regional locations, with most roles involving local travel within each region.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Assessment Delegate to join the team.   

What will your role look like? 

The Clinical Assessment Delegate will evaluate completed clinical assessments and oversee quality and compliance to ensure clients are approved for the appropriate aged care services they need.  

Day to day this includes:  

  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of clinical assessments and approving aged care services under the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Assessments Quality Framework and the current Aged Care standards  
  • Complying with Australian Government, State or Territory Laws 
  • Ensuring that the Aged Care Assessment has been completed without errors, contradictions or omissions before approving care  
  • Ensuring that the Aged Care Assessment decision is well evidenced and consistent with the Delegation Instrument, the legal requirements of the Act and its relevant principals   
  • Granting of extensions for transition care and residential respite care  
  • Management and notifying client of decisions relating to urgent circumstances  
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to promote a supportive and positive team culture.   

To be successful in this role you’ll need:  

  • Excellent communication and commitment to customer service  
  • Tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline directly related to health, aged care or related specialist area. E.g. registered nurse, medical officer, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and social worker  
  • Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or part of or eligible to be part of a relevant professional association  
  • At least one years’ aged care assessment experience preferred  
  • Willingness to apply for a Police Check 
  •  

    Knowledge of the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Assessments Quality Framework and the current Aged Care standards
